Wildwood Shopping Center was constructed in 1991.The center, originally 225,921 square feet straddling the city limits of Homewood and Birmingham, is accessed from Wildwood Parkway and Wildwood Circle, and backs up to Shades Creek and the Wildwood Preserve.In 2005, the western section of the shopping center within Birmingham's corporate limits (259–265 Lakeshore Parkway) was demolished, leaving 194,560 square feet on the eastern, Homewood side.
